The Department of Agriculture shall appoint a suitable person to serve as State Chemist.

The State Chemist shall receive such compensation for his services and expenses as may be fixed by the Department of Agriculture, to be paid out of funds of the State Treasury, in the same manner as other necessary expenses of the State are now paid, as provided by law. § 503. False analysis, penalty.
Whoever, being the State Chemist, wilfully makes any false or untrue analysis, shall be fined not more than $100, and shall be imprisoned until the fine is paid.
